(SBMR)
The goal of the SBMR is to advance breast MRI through education, training and quality standards as well as promoting research and public awareness.
MRI is a vascular based test not limited by breast density. It has long been known to be the most sensitive test for breast cancer detection but its use has been restricted primarily to women at the highest risk for breast cancer due to its high cost, time to perform and potential false positives.
The SBMR promotes continuing advancements in breast MRI quality, techniques and accuracy in order to improve patient outcomes and allow more women access to breast MRI.
